This policy explains what information the PawsDown app for iPhone and Apple Watch ("the app") collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. PawsDown works with PawsDown pods, small devices worn on each dog's harness ("pods") to help you keep track of your dogs outdoors.

1. Information we collect

Account information. You sign in with Sign in with Apple, once; after that the app works offline. We receive an account identifier and, if you choose to share them, your name and email address. Apple lets you hide your email; we then get a relay address instead. Sign-in is handled through Google Firebase Authentication and our own servers (Amazon Web Services), which verify each request comes from your account. We also store your account's role (for example walker, business owner or provisioner), which Petronix Wear assigns. You can delete your account in the app (Settings → Account → Delete account); this removes it and its data from our servers.

Your location. The app uses your iPhone's location to show you on the map next to your dogs and to fit the map around your group during a hike. Your location is processed on your phone. It is sent off the phone only to our map provider for map display (section 4).

Dog and device information. The app connects to PawsDown pods over Bluetooth and receives their status: dog names, device identifiers, battery levels, GPS positions and alerts (for example, a dog leaving a geofence). It can also send commands you choose to the pods. This information is stored on your phone. [CONFIRM: whether any dog positions are also stored on or relayed through our servers.]

Dog owners' information (walkers). If you walk other people's dogs, you can save the owners you pick dogs up from: their name, phone number, email, home address and location, an emergency contact, notes, and their dogs' names. You type this in yourself; the app doesn't read your iPhone contacts. It's kept on your phone, so it works without signal, and when you're signed in it's also stored on our servers and shared with the other walkers in your business, so any of them can do a pickup. Changes made on one phone reach the others when they have signal. Deleting an owner or dog deletes it on our servers and on every phone in your business. Deleting the app removes your phone's copy only. When you pair a pod to a dog, we also store which dog is wearing which pod, with the dog's name and its owner's and emergency contact's names and phone numbers, so a lost dog can be reunited with the right people. When you look up an address or pick a house on the map, the address or map area goes to Apple Maps (section 4). The app also stores which pod is paired to which dog, and may send the dog's name to that pod, which then broadcasts it over Bluetooth like any pod name. You can fill an owner from your iPhone contacts (you pick one contact; the app can't read the others) and save an owner to your contacts through Apple's contact screen. The owner assistant understands what you type on the iPhone itself where Apple Intelligence is available. On other iPhones, and only after you agree, what you type into the assistant is sent to our server and to Anthropic (Claude) to be understood; it isn't stored there or used to train models. Tell owners you keep their details in the app, and keep only what you need.

Notifications. We store a push-notification token so we can send you alerts. You can turn notifications off in iOS Settings.

Camera and microphone. These are used only when you choose to: the camera to scan a pod's QR code, and the microphone to record a sound you upload to a pod. Photos and recordings aren't sent to us. [CONFIRM: recordings go only to the pod.]

Diagnostic logs. The app keeps a log on your phone to help troubleshoot devices. It stays on your phone unless you choose to share it with us.

We don't collect health records, contacts, photos or browsing history, and we don't use advertising identifiers.

2. How we use information

We don't sell your personal information or share it for advertising.

3. Hike update text messages

If you are the owner of a dog walked by someone who uses PawsDown, you can choose to receive text messages about your own dog's walks.

What is sent. Two messages per dog, per walk: one when the walk starts and one when it ends. Each contains your dog's name, your walker's business name, a short summary, and a private link showing that one dog's route. Nothing else is sent to your number — no marketing, no offers.

How you sign up. You give your number and your agreement on our sign-up page at https://unleash.petronixwear.com. We record the date and time, the wording you agreed to, and the network address the sign-up came from, so we have a record of what you consented to. We do not text a number that has not been signed up this way.

How you stop. Reply STOP to any message and we will not text that number again. Reply HELP for help, or email privacy@petronixwear.com. We keep a record that consent was given and withdrawn; we do not delete it, because that record is how we show we stopped when asked.

Who sees your number. Your walker, who already has it, and our messaging providers (AWS End User Messaging, with Twilio as a fallback) for the purpose of delivering the message. It is not sold or shared for anyone else's marketing.

Message and data rates may apply. How often you hear from us depends only on how often your dog is walked.

4. Service providers

We use these providers to run the app. Each receives only what it needs:

5. Storage and retention

6. Your choices and rights

7. Children

PawsDown isn't intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age where you live), and we don't knowingly collect their information.

8. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) to our servers and limit who can access stored information. No system is perfectly secure.

9. Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
